Rated 3 out of 5 by Pelion1 from Well-fitting jean shorts, raw edge a problem These are great-fitting, soft jean shorts with a nice give in the material and sit at a good length/inseam. However, the raw edge is unappealing after trying them on at home. The convern is the edge will get worse over time and fray with wear and washing. I don't see why stitching was not added near the edge to prevent this. An actual hem would be even better. After reading some other reviews woth similart concerns, I will most likely return them to the store.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Het26 from Previous design was better I have 2 pairs of the design from prior years that I practically live in. They had cute front pockets and stitching that prevented further fraying as well as added to the design. These are just plane Jane. They are higher rise, so they can easily start looking like mom jeans. The biggest factor though is that there is nothing to stop continued fraying with each wash. I used some Fray Check on them which solved that, but I shouldn't have to for this brand and price. The stretch is nice, and the back of the leg opening is slightly lower than the front, so it's actually kinda nice if you want to cover the top back of your thighs a tiny bit more. The leg openings are also bigger than the old ones. I wish they'd bring those back or make the White Ella Field Denim shorts in a denim blue color.
