Well made and blocks the sun adequately.
Solid chair. The canopy is great and blocks the sun effectively.

Piece of Junk
Horrible chair. Made with cheap plastic parts. Not built to last. Save your money. I got the chair as a bridal shower gift. I used it for the FIRST time over a year later and the plastic piece below the arm rest completely cracked. Several other reviews have complained of the same issue. I called Guest Services where all they did was offer me a 25% off coupon to buy a new chair. Will not be using Tommy Bahama products in the future.

This is the chair for you if you have discriminating taste that is satisfied by high quality. Do not be mistaken, you will not find a chair of this quality elsewhere, trust me, we live on the beach.

Marlin Palms Ultimate Beac Chair
I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. Can't say yet how well it will hold up over time of sun, water and sand exposure, but very comfy, roomy and seems well made so far. The lumbar support and pillow helps some for my damaged lower back and neck. Cons: It is a bit heavy if you are walking a long distance (especially if storgae pockets are full) but is intended to be carried backpack style. The shade is a bit tricky at times, but I am still very happy with the overall quality and price when you consider it includes chair, shade, table, built in insulated pocket and storage and fully reclines flat.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!
I thought I would love this chair. It is too heavy; the pouches on the arms hang down if you want to carry the chair by the handle on the arm, which I found out the hard way causes a tripping hazzard; the chair doesn't close tightly if you want to carry it by the handle at the top of the chair.
