love our island!
Our son gave us this beautiful umbrella for Christmas. We have used it perhaps 3-4 times this winter in Florida. Two days ago we set up the umbrella on our beach which has white powdery sand. It was a 15 mph windy day and after about an hour, a gust of wind came up underneath the umbrella, lifted it out of the sand and propelled it airborne! It landed about 30 feet away and was stopped by a teenager on the beach. Fortunately it didn't impale anyone on the beach while it was flying about. In our opinion at issue here is the new design- the AnchorX design. We have been Tommy Bahama fans for many years and this is our second beach umbrella. We own 2 Tommy Bahama beach chairs and two chair sun shades. This was a very scary experience as someone on our beach may have been seriously injured. Unfortunately with the AnchorX design, the pole can only sink a certain depth into the sand and cannot penetrate the wet sand for a stronger hold. I don't see the original TB umbrella featured on your website without the AnchorX design. We would much prefer this for safety reasons. Thank You, a decades loyal TB family....

not all day comfort. 10 min of comfort
my boyfriend got me this for Christmas. today was my first use of it. the description says it has airflow to withstand lots of winds. it was windy today but not too bad and my unbrella completely broke in half. the medal pole was completely broken in half and we had to throw it away. i have seen other reviews where the unbrella has inverted. ours completely snapped. i do not recommend spending so much money on an unbrella for days you need it the most.

Terrible Product
I bought this umbrella for my girlfriend for Christmas. It took quite awhile to get in. The package arrived about a week before Christmas, and I open it to find they sent a blue beach chair instead of this green umbrella. I call them and they tell me they will send the umbrella and I can keep the chair, but it may not arrive in time for Christmas. So I argued for awhile and they ended up getting it there a couple of days before Christmas. Then it gets spring break, we set it up, it stands for about 10 minutes, and the main support snaps in half and flies into the ocean. Do not buy this product. I plan on calling Monday.

Very Pretty Umbrella
We haven’t had a chance to put this beach umbrella to use yet, so I’m just going on visuals of the product. It is a beautiful tropical print and seems to be good quality materials. The one questionable section I see as being a possible problem area, is the spiral bottom that screws into the sand. It appears to be too short of a length for the soft sandy beaches of our mid Atlantic area beaches, may not get down to the firmly packed sand to hold it in place, but we’ll find out when we try it out. I also feel these umbrellas should come with a protective shield for that pointy section for safety and protecting the cloth.

DId not stand up to breeze
The anchoir system is great, but the umbrella inverted frequently, and we finally had to take it down. The construction is flimsy and does not hold up to any breeze over about 10-12 knots, even when tilted to deflect the wind.
